  • This Week, March 22-26: 
    Focus on building community and re-teaching school expectations.

  • March 29-April 2: Spring Break - No School next week

    • Hybrid Students return to in-person classes Monday, April 5
    • Distance Learners resume online classes Monday, April 5
  • April 5-9: Spirit Week and Spark Blitz Week
    As we gear up for MCA testing, we want our Sparks to use the first week back after spring break to practice good learning habits along with celebrating our community with themed days.
    • Monday: Wear PJs to remind us to Get a Good Night Sleep
    • Tuesday: Wear bright colors—You are Bright Star
    • Wednesday: Hat day—Thinking Caps
    • Thursday: Wear words—Remind you to go back and re-read the questions
    • Friday: Show school pride and Show What You Know
       
  • Along with Spirit Week, our students will participate in Spark Blitz, where they will receive STEM Sparks for demonstrating their great behavior.
    • Students can receive a STEM SPARK from any staff member. We will reward when students show they are being: RESPONSIBLE, RESPECTFUL and SAFE! 
    • Winners will be drawn from each grade level (DISTANCE LEARNERS are also participating!!) 
    • Winners will receive a TOKEN for a Free Book from the Book Vending Machine!!

Reading Across America:

During the month of March our Kindergarten class will be celebrating Read Across America. We will be reading a book by a different author each Friday and dressing in a theme!

  • This Friday, March 26: The Sand Castle Contest by Robert Munch 
    Dress in warm weather clothes. They can wear shorts, T-shirts, beach hats, sandals and sunglasses.

Reminder: You should also send gym shoes so they can participate in Phy. Ed. and snow pants and boots to play outside at recess.

Introducing Richfield STEM PTO Online Gertens Fundraiser! 

  • We are offering Pansy Bowls and Plant Cards for purchase. Pansy Bowls are priced at $19.95 and are the perfect spring plant to add color to your outside.
  • Plant cards are available in denominations of $25, $50 and $100.
  • Plant cards are perfect gifts for a spring gardener or yourself for spring planting (only good for purchasing any plant material at Gerten's Greenhouse). Our group will receive 30% of all pansy bowl sales and 15% of all plant card sales.
  • Proceeds will go toward our RSTEM Books 4 Kids summer reading program (the program where we buy books for kids for summer reading). Please be sure to include the seller's name at check out to get credit for the sale.
  • Orders need to be completed by 10 p.m. on Thursday, March 25
  • Products will be delivered on Thursday, April 8
  • Your order will be ready for pick up between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. in front of the Richfield STEM School. Go to www.gertensfundraising.com

The Minnesota Department of Education released the 2023 graduation rates. We are excited to share that we have made consistent gains in many areas and that Richfield High School’s four-year graduation rate (94.1%) exceeds the statewide graduation rate of 83.3% by 10.8 percentage points. 

Empty Bowls Fundraiser: You're Invited

You’re invited to join us from 5-6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 12, for the Empty Bowls fundraiser. Empty Bowls is an event celebrating our community through art, music and food!
