Reminders:

As we move forward in creating an inclusive community that recognizes all cultures, we are going to focus on Friendship and celebrating each other at RSTEM.  To ensure this, I want to remind all families that students should not be bringing in Valentine Cards for Valentine's Day.

This decision does not mean that we are not having fun at school and having celebrations, rather, it is focusing on ensuring all our students and families can participate in the school events.  We’ll still hold class parties and creative building-wide events.  We are going to focus on celebrating how we connect with one another.  Throughout the month of February we will focus on the many meanings of friendship. It’s not just about who you sit next to at lunch or who you play with, but it’s also about how we show friendship and kindness to others.  We will continue to embrace the opportunity for all of us at STEM to create something even better than what has been done in the past.  Turning the focus for February to Friendship rather than a store bought Valentine’s card gives us the opportunity to positively impact people both within and outside of our school community.
