Marching Spartans Bring Richfield Pride Across Minnesota

The Richfield Marching Spartans are off to an exciting start to their summer season, representing Richfield Public Schools with pride at competitions and special events across Minnesota.

After earning three class championship awards last season, the Marching Spartans moved up to a higher competitive class this year, joining the state's top marching bands. The group of more than 50 student performers has already shared its 2026 competitive show, Believe, with audiences in Litchfield, Owatonna, Waconia, Winona, Roseville, St. Cloud and Lake City throughout the month of June.

In addition to their competition schedule, the Marching Spartans recently had the opportunity to perform at Target Field. Alongside their friends from the Waconia Marching Band, they performed their competitive routine and joined together to perform The Star-Spangled Banner before a sold-out Minnesota Twins game.

The Marching Spartans will continue their summer season with two Independence Day parade performances on Friday, July 4:

  • Edina Fourth of July Parade – 10 a.m.
  • Richfield Fourth of July Parade – 4 p.m.

Community members are encouraged to come out and cheer on the Spartans during their hometown performance. Please note that this year's Richfield Fourth of July Parade features a new start time and parade route.

The Marching Spartans extend their sincere thanks to the many volunteers, bus drivers and Richfield Public Schools staff members whose support makes these opportunities possible.

We are proud of our Spartans for representing Richfield with excellence wherever they perform and wish them continued success throughout the remainder of their season.

Special thank you to Richfield community member Ian Lundin for these amazing photos!
