Celebrating RPS Retiree Peter Fitzpatrick

After an astonishing 34 years of keeping our district moving and shining, Peter Fitzpatrick is officially retiring. Peter’s journey with us truly showcases his dedication, starting out as a part-time bus driver before transitioning to a combined bus driver and building cleaner role at the Intermediate school. From there, he stepped up as Maintenance A at Richfield Intermediate School, ultimately capping off his career as the Head Custodian at Centennial.

A lifelong local who grew up in South Minneapolis and graduated from Washburn High School, Peter has spent over three decades ensuring our facilities are safe and welcoming. As he hangs up his keys, he is looking forward to exploring new horizons. "We'd like to travel around the country and perhaps one day travel to Ireland," he shared.

Thank you, Peter, for 34 years of hard work and reliability, and for keeping our schools running beautifully every single day. We wish you safe travels and a spectacular, well-deserved retirement!
