Celebrating Christine Awbrey's Retirement

After 25 years of dedicated service to Richfield Public Schools, we are thrilled to celebrate the retirement of Christine Awbrey!

Christine began her RPS journey in 2000 and has worn many hats — Title I teacher, 3rd, 4th, and 5th-grade teacher, STEM educator and Math interventionist. In every role, she brought energy, compassion and a love for learning that touched the lives of countless students.

As Christine puts it, “In math intervention, you really do get to see kids’ ‘eureka’ moments — a celebration for both student and teacher.” She’s also had her fair share of classroom humor, like when a student asked, “Mrs. Awbrey, were you here when dinosaurs roamed the earth?” (Spoiler alert: she wasn’t!)

When she’s not teaching, Christine loves kayaking, biking, hiking, reading, sewing and traveling. In retirement, she’ll be moving to sunny Florida to enjoy warm weather year-round and fully embrace her favorite hobbies.

Thank you, Christine, for your passion, dedication and all the laughter you’ve shared along the way. We wish you blue skies and calm waters in your next adventure!
